Valentino Nortey, the 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Klottey Korle Constituency, was reportedly arrested in the United States following a stabbing incident.
According to ABC27.com, the former parliamentary candidate is suspected of stabbing a lady during a domestic disturbance on Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
He has been charged with attempted homicide, possessing a criminal instrument with the intent to use, and tampering with/fabricating physical evidence.
According to the report, Nortey was denied bond following his arraignment before the court, according to public records at the Dauphin County Prison.
It further stated that the accused would reappear in court on January 26, 2026, when the preliminary hearing begins.
The woman was rushed to the hospital and is reportedly in stable condition, according to the police.
Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings of the National Democratic Congress defeated Valentino Nortey in the 2024 parliamentary contest.
After defeating Samuel Nii Adjei Tawiah and Philip Kojo Addo Addison in the party’s primaries, he was selected as the NPP’s parliamentary candidate.
