A newborn baby has been rescued after she was buried alive in a bush at Ajumako Ebowkurase, a farming Community near Ekwamase in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.
The baby was found buried by some farmers after they heard her crying in the bush. The farmers quickly rushed to the community to inform the elders who mobilized men, stormed the scene, exhumed the baby, and rushed her to a health facility.
The baby is hale and hearty, and currently under the care of Social Welfare who are looking for an Orphanage home to take custody of her.
“Police is investigating, more so we are working to move the child to an orphanage so these are the two things,” the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Social Welfare Officer Madam Abena Serwaa Opare told Bryt FM Central Regional Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah.
The Assembly Member for Ekwamase Electoral Area, Isaac Baisie Acquah also appealed to residents to help fish out the Suspect.
“What I want to say to the ladies in this Community is to help us search for the person who committed this act so we arrest the person and hand her over to the Police. This is act is strange in this Community so it is scary and disgraceful to the community. Already we have reported to Social welfare and DOVVSU.”
