100,000 Youth Gets Indirect Jobs Under My Administration- H.E.Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

The government of Ghana since 2017 has made job creation and labour issues the topmost agenda of its priorities focus on skill development and sustainable and decent jobs
Delivery his keynote address, the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E.Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated the under his leadership over 100,000 youth benefited from indirect jobs and that’s why is important that in the upcoming elections the youth must vote massively for the NPP to continue its good works.
According to him, he will get in touch with the security agencies to rather consider the assistants when enlisting or recruitment into the service.Ghana that he shall consider voting for the NPP rather than voting for Ex President John Dramani Mahama to come back destroyed the good things that the NPP government has done for mother Ghana.
In the implementation of all of the major government policies, including the Free Senior High School programme, One District One factory, automobile industry setup, entrepreneurship development, agricultural value chain support, health, construction industry and many others, the primarily focus of government through the ministry is how sustainable and decent jobs are created right from the stage of planning through to execution.
Speaking at the YEA beneficiaries forum held in Ashanti Region, the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Hon Ignatius Baffour Awuah, reiterated to the fact that over the years, therefore, the MELR has been collaborating with its social partners to develop some comprehensive strategies that will give direction to addressing the employment challenges in Ghana by dealing with decent work deficits, targeting in particular, vulnerable groups, the youth, women and persons with disabilities( PWDs).
According to him, the YEA is well placed in this strategic direction with all of the programmes and initiatives that its board and management have been rolling out to curtail youth unemployment in the country.
The agency has for some time now been focus on employment components such as entrepreneurial development, private sector competitiveness linking agriculture to the others sectors of the economy, research and innovation, vocational and technical skills development, productivity improvement, collaboration with the labour department to harrass opportunities in labour migration and the green economy, among others.
He was optimistic that enthused about the growth in diversity of thought and the number of sustainable and skilled jobs that have been created. Data shows that as of June 2023, YEA has surpassed its target of 70,000 and is already hitting 85,000 jobs.
The ministry will continue to support the agency in its quest to transform the youth economy with sustainability of jobs and labour protection.
In his remarks, the CEO of YEA, Mr Kofi Baah Agyapong hinted that the story has been great, and great stories are told in style and clarity. Making this brochure is certainly a means to tell that story. The story of exceeding targeted deliverables for 2023 at mid-year: 15,000 community police assistants, 6,000 community health workers, 1,500 community prison assistants, 45,000 sanitation workers, 6,000 insurance agents, 4,000 famr workers, 5,000 entrepreneurship trainees and over 70,000 indirect jobs through partnership with the private sector.
