GOIL reduces fuel pricing at 150 of its stations.

GOIL has announced a drop in fuel prices at 150 of its service stations, providing respite to motorists as economic pressures and worldwide market volatility continue to impact fuel costs.
The change is part of the company’s efforts to reduce the financial burden on customers while remaining competitive in the energy business.
According to GOIL, the price cut reflects recent drops in worldwide crude oil prices and an improvement in the local currency’s performance.
The current pricing window has cut the price of petrol (PMS) to GH¢9.99 per litre, down from GH¢10.99, marking the first time in nearly a decade that petrol prices have reverted to single-digit levels.
Diesel, commonly known as AGO, has been cut to GH¢11.21 per litre, from the previous GH¢11.96, at certain GOIL stations.
Edward Abambire Bawa, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GOIL PLC, explained that the significant reduction in fuel prices at 150 of its 447 outlets nationwide, as part of a targeted pricing intervention, was intended to reduce transportation costs and ensure that recent economic gains translated into tangible relief for ordinary Ghanaians.
“The price reduction applies to strategically selected GOIL stations located closer to commercial vehicle terminals and major transport corridors across the country.”
“These locations primarily serve public transport operators and vehicles involved in the movement of food and goods from farm gates to urban and peri-urban markets,” he stated in an exclusive interview with the Daily Graphic.
“The intervention is designed to ensure that the benefits of improved macroeconomic conditions are passed on directly to commuters, transport operators, traders, and consumers,” Bawa told Graphic.
Lower fuel prices at these high-impact areas are anticipated to assist lower transport fares, lower the cost of transporting food from fields to markets, and ultimately moderate food prices in towns and cities, according to the MD/CEO of GOIL PLC.
Bawa underlined that the project is in line with GOIL’s responsibilities as a national energy business, which include supporting broader socio-economic goals and maintaining competitiveness, especially during times of economic recovery.
The company added that the country’s strengthening economic fundamentals—such as increased macroeconomic stability, decreased inflationary pressures, and more economic confidence—had enabled the price choice.
“These conditions have been underpinned by the sound economic leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, whose policies have contributed to stabilising the economy and creating room for businesses to pass on cost savings to consumers,” the GOIL CEO added.
Bawa reiterated GOIL PLC’s dedication to promoting national development via prudent pricing, effective operations, and calculated initiatives that enhance Ghanaians’ day-to-day lives.
As it continues to fulfil its pledge to supply “good energy” to support the nation’s development, the firm urged the general public, especially commercial drivers and transport operators, to take advantage of the lower rates at the authorised GOIL stations.
Drivers in several areas have applauded the action, calling it significant and timely. Transport fares have been a source of concern for both drivers and passengers, and commercial drivers in particular have voiced confidence that the drop will help stabilise them.
