President John Dramani Mahama has sent a new group of envoys to represent Ghana in important international cities, marking the beginning of a new era in the country’s foreign policy.

According to the president, their goal is to “carry Ghana’s Reset Agenda to the world” and forge closer ties in order to promote progress.

During a ceremony held at the Jubilee House this afternoon, Thursday, September 4, 2025, President Mahama tasked the diplomats with promoting Ghana’s economic and political interests internationally while showcasing the country’s revitalized vision.

“The Reset Agenda is this administration’s blueprint; it’s a bold vision to restore hope, rebuild trust, and rekindle the movement towards prosperity,” Mahama declared.

“While much of the work begins at home, your task is to extend this agenda abroad by unlocking opportunities and deepening Ghana’s place in the global community.”

Among the top appointees, the president nominated Kojo Bonsu (China), Baba Jamal (Nigeria), Mavis Ama Frimpong (France), Zita Sabah Benson (UK), and Victor Emmanuel Smith (US). Alhaji Abdul Nasiru-Deen (Turkey), Nii Amasah Namoale (Brazil), Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso (India), and Professor Ohene Adjei (Germany) are among the others.

Mahama reminded them that Pan-African unity, peaceful coexistence, and justice in international affairs have long been the cornerstones of Ghana’s diplomacy.

He emphasized that in order to draw in investments, forge partnerships, and strengthen Ghana’s position in global decision-making, the envoys must do more than only serve ceremonial purposes.
