A 90-year-old farmer was allegedly killed over a disagreement about coconuts in the Volta Region

Edem Kpotsodzi, a 32-year-old farmer, is accused of killing Mr. Christopher Agboka, also known as Gbagbladza, a 90-year-old resident of Datsiedu-Ziope.
The farming community in the Agortime-Ziope District of the Volta Region is in grief following the catastrophe, which happened on Tuesday, January 6.
The suspect had been harvesting coconuts from the deceased’s land, according to Mr. Seth Adorvlo, the Assemblyman for the Ziope Electoral Area, who verified the occurrence.
The suspect became enraged when Mr. Agboka begged him to stop, claiming the fruit was immature.
Mr. Adorvlo says that Edem Kpotsodzi returned to his home, got a knife, and attacked the deceased, repeatedly stabbing him in the stomach.
The man died as a result of the assault, which seriously damaged his intestines.
According to Mr. Adorvlo, the suspect ran away from the scene but was eventually caught by the police. He is currently being held and helping with investigations.
