The Ghana Education Service teacher names his son after Dede Ayew per the directive from the Chief of Dormaa, Nana Agyemna Badu II.
The decision to name the son after Dede Ayew comes after the Black Stars captain and some of his teammates went to Dormaa Ahenkro in June to play a ceremonial game organized by The BAC Group.
It was the first time Dede Ayew, who led Ghana’s under-20 team in 2009 to world cup glory, had visited Dormaa to play a match.
To show appreciation to Dede Ayew, and his teammates and to encourage visiting by high-profile personalities, the Dormaahene, who doubles as a high court Judge, decreed that the first name child that will be born at the Dormaa hospital the following day on June 23 will be named after Dede Ayew.
To keep his word, the first male child came from Mr. Appiah Tuffour, who is a Teacher with the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education. They have, therefore, named the boy after Dede Ayew.

The Dormaa Hene Nana Agyeman Badu II expressed his gratitude to the Teacher for his adherence to his decree and handed over wads of cash to Mr. Tuffour and his wife. He also promised to part-sponsor the Child’s Education.
The Nmaicing ceremony of the Child held in Dormaa attracted many gatherings to honor Ayew’s exemplary leadership.”
