In Aziave, a suburb of Kpando, a newly built medical center was put into operation to meet the health needs of residents of the Sovie and beyond. Before the center opened, those in need in the area had to travel about five kilometers to Margaret Marquat, a Catholic Hospital. Director of Municipal Health, Samuel Abudei was surprised that such a large project could be completed in such a short time. He also promised to immediately deploy his staff to the facility once the newly appointed midwife was ready. He pointed out that four (4) years ago two different NGOs had approached the Directorate to build the facility but had not heard from them until now, even though the Health Directorate had paid for land documentation for the project.
In his speech on behalf of Akpinifia Okpekpewuokpe Dagadu IX of Togbui Asumadu XIII, he mentioned Mr. Sebastian Deh, a famous and precious son of the earth who always remembers his roots with life-changing projects. Akpinivi presenter Sebastian Deh repeated his previous position on the development of Kpando when last year he commissioned drilling projects for solar-powered goods in the following communities; Avetikope, Dzigbe, Zoanti, Gabi and Tsakpe. This health center was built with a GHC of 250,000.00 provided by Qatar Charity, the leading non-governmental organization in the Persian Gulf dedicated to humanitarian and development projects to alleviate global poverty around the world.


The first phase of the project, the building structure, includes OPD, men’s and women’s wards, childbirth, isolation, vaccinations, examinations, laboratories, pharmacies, and bathrooms. He added that the commissioning of the health center paved the way for the start of the second phase of the project.“We will soon start supplying 100,000 Ghc worth of equipment and 56,000 Ghc of drilling goods for the clinic. “Ghanaian health services will provide staff to make the health center fully operational,” he said.On behalf of the Qatar Charitable Foundation, engineer Ismale Laari urged the beneficiary community to cultivate a culture of good maintenance for the facility. Hon Mawuli Erickson Ankah, a member of the Assembly, could not hide the joy of his community as he prayed for God’s supreme blessing and protection for Qatar’s anticipated construction and charitable foundation.
In closing, he asked Akpini to design and select leaders with the vision and connections needed for a complete transformation of society.
