Kwame Nkrumah II, also known as David Kwodow Prah Afful, is sentenced to seven months in prison by an Accra Circuit Court for threatening to kill President John Mahama, members of Parliament, and other government officials.

Threat of death and provocative behavior conducive to a breach of peace were the accusations against which Afful entered a guilty plea. During legal hearings, he pleaded with government authorities for their pardon.

Following a TikTok webcast in which he threatened to murder public officials, set markets on fire, and instigate others to violence, the prisoner was taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service. Around 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, police located him and took him into custody close to Kasoa Market.

Afful is also accused of threatening civil personnel and journalists who use official green license plates in the widely shared video.

Following his detention, police issued a warning that although free speech is guaranteed, inciting violence, insecurity, or public unrest will not be accepted.
