An NGO organized a skill training workshop for Berekum east residents.
Life Gear Foundation, an NGO in collaboration with the Bono Regional Coordinating Council has organized a one-day skills training workshop for Berekum East Residents on the Theme: Operation Pick up Your Form.
During the program, Prophet Patrick Osei Bonsu who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation stated that the youth of today are facing a series of social and economic hardships as a result of full dependence on government jobs which has mounted a lot of pressure on the government hence he deemed it very necessary to offer skills training to the youth to reduce their burden on government and to cushion them to be socially and economically stabilize.
He stressed that he is keen on reducing poverty among the youths to the lowest level and so he is calling on stakeholders, parents, and philanthropists to support them with financial assistance to be able to achieve their aim by ensuring that are given the needed skills training to alleviate the economic hardship from the society.
He added that the foundation aims to offer training to the people of the Bono region and subsequently expand its reach to the Ahafo region. He further advised all trained personnel to take due advantage of the program to benefit from what they were taught.
According to Mr. Alfred Gborglah, the officer in charge of the Berekum East Social welfare department, it is one of their mandates to secure skill training for the vulnerable youths in the community hence Life gear foundation taking it upon themselves is a great decision that needed to be appreciated.
He expressed gratitude to the NGO for assisting the social welfare department in alleviating hardship and poverty from ordinary Ghanaians by providing them with skill training Assistance indicating that it will go a long way to help them meet their life expectations.

The senior regulatory officer for Food and Drugs Authority in the Bono region, Madam Abena Ayisaa offered advice to the beneficiaries to ensure that they seek permissions from the FDA before their products are brought to the market for marketing transactions indicating that products that are not FDA approved are not supposed to be on the market hence the need for all the beneficiaries to register their products before bringing them to market to avoid sanctions from the FDA.
She stressed that the facilities within which the products will be produced must also be registered to facilitate the smooth running of the business without Authority.
Some beneficiaries of the skill training expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Life gear Foundation for the great service rendered to them.
