Ghana star, Andre Ayew displayed impressive form on Friday evening as he scored a crucial goal to set his Al-Sadd SC on a path to victory in the game against Al-Wehdat.
The experienced forward today started for his Qatari club when the team locked horns with the Jordanian outfit in the third group game of the AFC Champions League.
In need of a win, Al-Sadd SC fought hard in the early parts of the game and had the lead after 23 minutes courtesy of a penalty kick converted by Akram Afif.
Unfortunately, the hosts lost momentum in the final parts of the half with Al-Wehdat netting twice before the break through strikes from Ahmed Samir and Mohammed Anas.
Trailing from those two goals, Al-Sadd SC managed to return from the break to turn things around thanks to the collective effort of players and the potent instructions of the manager.
First, talisman Santi Carzola equalised in the 59th minute to draw level for the hosts, before a fantastic Andre Ayew goal four minutes later restored the lead for the side.
In addition to two more goals from Rodrigo Tabata and Mohammed Bayati, Al-Sadd SC cruised to a 5-2 win at full time to climb to second on the table.
