The much awaited Odododiodioo Constituency General Meeting, popularly known as Aquaye’s House meeting resumed after a long break in a magnificent manner to kickstart constituency political activities yesterday.
The meeting is scheduled to continue unabated every, Wednesday at Aquaye’s House.
The meeting which was well patronized brought together dignitaries, rank and file to share experiences.
Themed, “Unity, a sure way to victory”, the program was graced by past constituency executives, past aspirants and many polling station executives and coordinators.
The Sepcial Guest of Honor, The Lady Mayor of Accra, Mrs Elizabeth Naa Kwartsoe Tawiah Sackey, made a stunning entry and urged the Constituency to gear towards winning 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Other guests speakers include Nii Laryea Squire, Former Deputy Genera Secretary, Reginald Niibi Ayibonte Esq, Former Member of Parliament, Chairman Kwesi Poku, Tema West Constituency Chairman amongst others.
A glittering moment of the day was the address by the former constituency Chairman, Seth Raymond Ntoana Tettey, who laid emphasis on the need to be united in Odododiodioo.
“I worked so hard as the chairman to win 2020 for the Constituency but proved futile, however let’s all unite and work hard this time so that we can all be proud to win 2024 under the current Chairman,” he remarked.
Others who graced the occasion includes Mr. Ebenezer Lamptey, Political Aide, Office of the Mayor, Abdul Mannaf Adjei Sowah, Patron, TESCON, Accra Technical University (ATU) amongst others.
The occasion was also graced by the former constituency executives including; Alhaji Abdul Yekeen, Former Nasara Coordinator, Alhaj Inuwa Gariba, Former Deputy Nasara Coordinator, Grace Fofo Tetteh, Former Women Organizer, Hajia Barichisu Amadu, Former Deputy Women Organiser, Irene Okyere Former Financial Secretary and Ibrahim Ayala Tackie, Former Assistant Secretary.
The Constituency Chairman, Samuel Boadi in his closing remarks, emphasized on the need for Unity. “I have warned all the executives to abstain from open campaign for any parliamentary aspirant because we are the referees of the game. The referee has to be neutral so that after the primaries, we can unite the constituency to win 2024 elections and end the 20 years orphanage of Odododiodioo”, he said.
The Constituency Executive Committee members present included; Hajia Fatimatu Tetteh, Second Vice Chairperson, Samuel Nii Lankai Lamptey, Secretary, Malik Odenkey Abbey, Assistant Secretary, Nana Yaw Asibey Kensah, Ag. Organiser, Mustapha Abubakar, Deputy Organizer, H.O Lamptey, Treasurer, Collins Opoku-Arthur, Youth Organiser, Godfred Nii Carl Lokko, Deputy Youth Organiser, Habib Bashir Mohammed, Nasara Coordinator, Sulley Lardi, Deputy Nasara Coordinator, Vincent Adams, Researcher and Elections Officer and Osumanu Awudu Laryea, Communication Officer.
The Aquaye’s house meeting is one of the oldest meeting in Greater Accra which makes it a tradition of the NPP party. This meeting has witnessed the past president and current president in attendance.
The meeting shall continue in perpetuity on every Wednesday.
