The Brong Ahafo Regional GRNMA celebrated this year’s International Midwives Day at the Regional Secretariat in Sunyani.
The day was a maiden celebration in the Region.
The region chose to celebrate with the Midwives with a seminar on “how to prevent Mother to Child transmission of viral Hepatitis” and another topic on “The need to fully inculcate maternal mental health in Midwifery practice”.
It was chaired by the Bono Regional Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer (Mrs. Emily A Oduro) with our national PRO (Mr Krampah) who doubles as the regional parent gracing the occasion as the guest of honour.
The special guest of honour was Dr Charles Ampong Adjei a lecturer from the SON , UG. He delivered a thought provoking lecture on the mother to child transmission of viral hepatitis.
The other lecture was delivered by Justice Ofori Atta, a Community Mental Health Officer stationed in Gulumpe- Bono East Region.

Certificates were issued to participants after the program.
Overall, the participating midwives were full of praises in our efforts to recognise and appreciate their relevance in our common endeavours
