Brong Ahafo GRNMA Climaxes International Nurses Day With Scientific Sessions.
The Brong Ahafo branch of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association climaxed this year’s International Nurses Day Celebration on the 22nd of July 2022. The theme for the celebration was “Nurses and Midwives“, A voice to Lead, Invest in Nursing and Respect Nurses Rights to Secure Global Heath”
The day was marked with scientific sessions where members/participants were drawn from the three Regions: Bono, Bono East and Ahafo.
Present to grace the occasion The Bono East Regional CNMO, Mrs Joyce Eshun who steered the affairs to a successful end as the Chairperson;
The Bono Regional CNMO, Mrs Emily Ama Oduro presented the keynote address.
The BA Regional Chairman, Mr Fidelis Atibila welcomed all participants and encouraged all nurses and Midwives in the region and beyond to remain discipline and professional in their lines of duty.
The Unique lighting of candle 🕯️ moment for nurses was observed, a solemn moment for all nurses to reflect on our responsibility to be the light on darkness for the needy at all times.
The topics for the scientific sessions were:
1. Leadership and Governance in the Nursing and Midwifery professions, this was presented by Rev Jefferson Agbetro a Registered General Nurse at the Regional Hospital, Sunyani.
2. Code of Conduct and professional ethics in the Nursing and Midwifery practice by The Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regional Officer, NMC, Mrs Bernice Konama Gyau
The region also took the opportunity to introduce and reward all 17 nurses and Midwives who contested in this year’s regional best Nurse/Midwife”s contest, where Sarah Boakyewaa of Sunyani West emerged as the regional best Nurse.
Cash reward and Citations were presented to them.
Media outlets present were GBC RADIO/TV, ADOM TV/RADIO AND SUNYANI BASED ARK FM.
Certificates were provided to all participants at the end of the programme.
