An accident that happened at Awutu Obrachire in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region has resulted in the death of two people with three others severely injured.
The accident occurred when an overspeeding unregistered Toyota Camry ran into a drinking spot at Awutu Obrachire.
Witnesses have disclosed that the driver with two passengers was coming from Awutu Bereku to Obrachire and upon reaching Obrachire township, the driver lost control and ran into the drinking spot.
One person is said to have died on the spot whiles the other passed on after he was rushed to the hospital for medical care.
Stephen Kwame Quaye, a former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Awutu Senya West is said to have witnessed the accident.
From the reports gathered, he attempted to get the driver of the speeding car to slow down but he refused to listen.
After the incident, he indicated that from the bad driving of the owner of the vehicle, he is not surprised the accident occurred.
He, however, expressed sadness about the demise of two people, the injuries suffered by three people, and the destruction of property.
