Five of a gang of 30 that attacked a Chief’s palace at Adanse Praso near Assin Praso in the Assin North District of the Central Region have been hospitalised after sustaining gunshot wounds.
The thugs according to reports gathered invaded the Adanse Praso community wielding various arms including guns and cutlasses.
It is said that the thugs proceeding to the Chief’s Palace threatened to cause harm to anyone they will meet who tries to show any form of resistance.
The youth in the community refused to back down and mobilized themselves in a bid to protect their community.
A gun battle that subsequently ensued between the gang and the youth saw five of the armed gang members sustaining gunshot wounds.
Two of the gang men were arrested by the youth and handed over to the Police before the rest took to their heels.
Checks have revealed that thugs in the community are fond of causing fear and panic. Due to their activities, a Volunteering Group made up of the youth has been formed by the Kyidomhene of the area, Nana Okofo Tabi I to patrol the community.
After the latest incident, the Chief has called on the Police for help to maintain peace in his community.
