There has been a ghastly accident at Assin Kwaataa in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
The accident has seen several people sustaining various degrees of injuries.
The accident occurred on Monday morning.
According to the report gathered, the accident happened when an overspeeding Hyundai H100 minibus lost control.
Eyewitnesses say the driver upon reaching a curve attempted to do overtaking. Due to his speed, he, unfortunately, lost control of the wheel, resulting in the accident.
But for the swift intervention of a team of MTTD officers from the Assin Fosu Division, many of the passengers could have died.
Fortunately, the MTTD managed to rescue the victims of the accident and successfully rushed them to St Francis Xavier Hospital for treatment.
The police working with MTTD officers are investigating the accident to ascertain the actual cause.
Meanwhile, Police as part of their investigation have visited the injured at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital and are also helping to link those in serious conditions with their family members.
