This year, the theme for 2024 is “Combating Threats to Sub-Regional Peace and Security: Perspectives of the Civil Service.”
Held every April, this year’s celebration was particularly memorable due to the inclusion of a float activity, which provided participants with the opportunity to engage in physical exercise while celebrating their roles in the civil service.
Dr. Aggrey Evans Darkoh, the Head of the Civil Service Office, emphasized the importance of civil servants’ role as outlined in the 1992 Constitution and PNDC Law 327.
According to him, assisting the government in information dissemination and policy implementation is a straightforward mandate that involves providing strategic support to formulate and implement policies for national development.
Dr. Darkoh expressed his vision of seeing a highly professionalized civil service workforce in the coming years, dedicated to delivering impeccable service to the citizens.
He reassured the media that the Ghana Civil Service is spread across the nation, offering policy advice, conducting innovative research, and mobilizing resources for the country’s development.
In conclusion, Dr. Darkoh urged all national civil service personnel to continue collaborating and to seize the opportunity presented by Civil Service Week to enhance effectiveness, productivity, and alignment with the week’s activities.
Meanwhile a health walk was held to begin with the celebration while it will be climax with thanksgiving service and award.
