Cristiano Ronaldo Finally Reacts To Reports Of Him Threatening To Leave Portugal Camp At Qatar World Cup
Cristiano Ronaldo claimed the Portugal World Cup team is “too powerful to be shattered by outside forces” in reaction to online reports that he wanted to quit. Fernando Santos, a former striker for Manchester United, infuriated fans when he expressed displeasure at their 2-1 loss to South Korea. In addition, he allegedly threatened to go home when his coach benched him during their 6-1 round of 16 triumph against Switzerland.
Portugal responded by criticizing the reports as untrue and asserting that Ronaldo “builds up a unique track record every day at the service of the national team and the country, which must be acknowledged and which attests to the indisputable degree of dedication to the national team.”
The 37-year-old has spoken out in response to the accusations, stating that Portugal is too “tight” and “brave” to be swayed by outside noise.
Cristiano Ronaldo wrote in a tweet: “A group too close to be torn apart by outside forces. a country that is too bold to be intimidated by any foe. In the purest meaning of the term, a squad that will never give up on its goal! Belief is a must! Portugal, be strong! ”
