Current state of ghana
formation and implementation which out rules corporal punishment and has recognised the rights of students more than the teachers’.
Prof. May I asked whether you use to discipline your students whenever they go awkward during your regime?
That kind of discipline is no more in our public basic schools and that is supported by GES as “I know and have my right” as if the teachers’ are not Ghanaians and they have no such rights, that has rendered many teachers who ignored and insisted on discipline jobless, though the salary is meager but the poor teacher still needs to protect his work.
Should you blame the teacher for this, which you the superiors have caused? No.
Prof. Sorry to say that, you are intentional digressing from the main causes of the Public basic Schools poor performance for reasons best known to you and not that you do not know.
Gather courage as an elderly person and get more courageous people to help you say the truth and real causes of the fiasco performance of our public basic schools.
I’m one of those students who sat under trees from primary school to SHS and I will be forever grateful to my teachers, it was no where near their fault that there were no classrooms for us, some even use their hard earn meager salaries to mend chairs and tables for their students, how could you blame the teacher?
Also, Prof. note that Accra and it’s environs are not the only place we have in Ghana, take a break out of your schedule activities and tour to Upper East, Upper West, North East, Oti Region, Northern Region among others and you will realise that we still have a long way to go as a nation and not mere Media talks and blame games.
The real conditions of Ghana and as well the public basic schools are not those of Accra, Kumasi and other Cities but outside the heaven you live.
In fact, I must say that our public basic schools are having more than qualified teachers to teach but teaching and learning activities as you know do not happen in vacuum.
The country as a whole with our Government have given priority to other things than the educational sector which you know should not have been so.
The size of the government a lone if reduced could solve if not all but major part of these our educational sector challenges.
We expect people of your caliber and religious leaders to come together and help redirect our Nation’s priority because it is misplaced but you rather use the precious time you have to lament and blame teachers at the end, that is not fair on the side of teachers, Prof.
I wish you more strength, Courage and life with Wisdom for you to Contribute effectively to our Nation’s progress.
Do not put the blame on the teacher!
Do not put the blame on the teacher!!
Do not put the blame on the teacher!!!
We reap what we sow.
