The swearing in the president elect Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo and his vice Dr. Alhaji Mahammud Bawumia and the inaugural ceremony of the Ghana’s 8th parliament held today, 7th January, 2021 at the parliament house of Ghana, Accra.
It was surprising to hear one of the leading members of the opposition party, NDC’s Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin won the speaker of parliament position, defeating the incumbent speaker, Aaron Mike Oquaye from NPP.
Meanwhile, before the election of the speaker, many brutal incidence occurred in the parliament house that frustrated the processs and administrative endeavours to pave way for the swearing in of president elect and his vice of the fourth republic of Ghana on time.
Dignitaries from abroad and nationals were flabbergasted to see the program brochures bearing Mike Oquaye’s Photo as the speaker of the Ghana’s 8th parliament, meanwhile, he is defeated.
This has brought the idea that, the planning committee of Paliament intentionally did that, thinking Mike Oquaye will retain his seat as speaker.

Though it was disturbing and disgraceful, the sworn-in- speaker did not show up as erroneous to halt the processs.
As a fact, the occasion elapsed peacefully by the intervention of Almighty God.
