The elected Assembly Member *(AM)* for the Atomic electoral Area in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Michael Osei has slammed , the Electoral Commission of Ghana for their poor work during the just ended District Level Elections throughout the Country .
In an interview with Kingdom fm’s Nhyiraba Kwadwo Sammy Bee, Hon.Michael Osei said, most of the EC’s elections materials came very late that resulted in the low-turnout in the elections.
According to him, the elections was held in a working day which most workers wanted to vote early in order to returned to work but because of their delay, most of his people left to work without voting.
In his assertions, he emphasized that Dome Kwabenya has ten (10) zones but the EC used only one Pick up ( car ) to distribute the election materials across the Constituency which he describes uncalled for.
He further explained that in the Past year’s elections, the aspirants names and pictures were arranged orderly with coloured pictures but this time around, the names were not properly arranged and the pictures too were made in black and white which made the electorates bewildered in identifying their favourite Candidate.
He therefore appealed to the Authorities to openly declare Assembly level elections political so that the various political Parties can present one Candidate.
He believes that, open politicization of Such elections can increase the turnout because, every party will solidly root firm behind the candidate presented.
He therefore commented his electorates for having confidence and trust in him and assures them of delivering all the promises he made.
