Don’t attack Journalists, focus on corruption under Akuffo Addo – Okatakyie to Anas

Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, a maverick journalist, has slammed fellow journalist Aremeyaw Anas for his recent exposé on Ghanaian journalism and press freedom. He believes Anas should concentrate on the problems that exist under Akuffo Addo.

He recognizes the reality that the nation has crooked journalists on the official payroll who are constantly supporting everything, even if it is false. However, he believes that this is unimportant at this time. Instead, he should concentrate on the massive corruption that exists under this government.

“You performed an exposé on the port, the judiciary, and everything else under Prof. Mills, but under Akuffo-Addo, you’ve gone to the media.” You’ve got a cold. Do you have to pay a tax to the media? Yes! We are all aware that the media is tainted. Some journalists work for the government, and others profit from it in other ways, but that isn’t the point right now.

This government is the most corrupt government Ghana has ever seen yet you’re there without any exposé to it. If you don’t know and Akuffo Addo leaves office and you try with your exposé again some of us will stop you. You think you can play with the minds of the people?” he fumed.

He is not happy with the seeming silence of Anas under President Akuffo Addo. He made these assertions on his show “Abranaso” on TV XYZ.
