Drama as students stone parents for demonstrating against their school principal. Drama ensued at Muiu Secondary school in Makueni as rowdy students pelted stones at their parents who had arrived at the school to demand immediate removal of a principal who is alleged to be a drunkard.
According to reports, the meeting of parents and teachers had commenced well until when the parents were leaving and the students started throwing stones to them.
”Mwalimu mmoja ameincite hawa watoto. Vile tulianza hii event walikuwa wazuri lakini wakati tulitoka nje ya gate watototo wakakuwa simba,” a parent lamented.
Parents interviewed by the Standard after the ugly turn of events lament that since the principal had set foot in the school, teen pregnancy has increased rapidly.
”Venye alikuja watoto wengi wako na mimba. Vijana wengi ni walevi sasa tumeshindwa na hii ni shule yetu sasa tutakuwa tunapeleka watoto wapi,’‘ said one of the parents.
Another parent stated that the principal has been on many occassions seen chewing ‘muguka’ in front of students thus this has sent alarm to the parents about the welfare of their children in the school.
