In the Eastern Region, 55,000 individuals passed the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), with 27,393 females and 28,491 males participating.
Our correspondent went to four schools in the region’s New Juaben North and South Municipalities, including Oyoko SHS, Pope John SHS and Minor Seminary, GHANASS, and Koforidua Secondary Technical, to see how candidates were celebrating the completion of their final paper, which was ICT.
While some of the students were ecstatic, others stated that while they were pleased to have completed Junior High School, they are looking forward to the next steps in their lives.
“Everything was fine; at the very least, we were able to finish it.”
I’m very excited, but we still haven’t received our results.
I am confident that I will pass.”
“Completing JHS gives me a fantastic sense of accomplishment.
I believe I am now free.
I can take some part-time job to supplement my income as I pursue my degree.”
“It was good, but I’m going to look for a job so I can earn some money so my mother can support me,” said one of the kids.
