Shinzo Abe, a former Japanese Prime Minister who served from 2006 to 2007 and again from 2012 to 2020, has been shot dead while delivering a speech on the campaign trail.
The 67-year-old man was killed by a 40-year-old assassin in Nara, a city in Japan, while he was joining his Liberal Democratic Party in campaigning ahead of the country’s upcoming election.
According to a valid source on Twitter, Steve Hanke, in a post today sighted by Modernghana News, all attempts by paramedics to get him back to life proved fatal.
The assassin behind this awful act has been arrested by the Japanese police.
“Former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe was assassinated while giving a campaign speech in Nara, Japan. Paramedics attended to the former PM in vain, while the assassin is carried away by police. RIP,” Steve Hanke’s tweet reads.
Shinzo Abe is a Japanese politician who served as Prime Minister of Japan and President of the Liberal Democratic Party from 2006 to 2007 and again from 2012 to 2020.
He remains the country’s longest-serving prime minister in history.
