The Ghana Football Association is pleased to notify the public that Francis Abu has successfully undergone surgery, and the acute phase of his rehabilitation has begun, thanks to the efforts of Dr. Prince Pambo, Black Stars head of medical, his colleagues from Toulouse FC, and the surgical team in Japan following the incident during the game between Ghana and Japan in which Abu Francis suffered a fracture of two bones.
During this critical stage of his recovery, the Ghana Football Association, the Black Stars’ management team, and the technical staff have decided to allow one physiotherapist to remain with the player to assist him with his intense physiotherapy sessions.

After the player is released from the Toyota Memorial Hospital where the surgery was performed, a senior member of the technical team will go with him to his home base in France.
Everyone who helped us along the way is appreciated by the Ghana Football Association. We would especially like to express our gratitude to the Black Stars management and technical team for their help over the past few days. We will continue to rely on their assistance throughout the recovery process as we work to guarantee that the player regains full fitness.
