GalamseyFight: Tears Follow Man After Seeing His Excavator On Fire

The government of Ghana has intensified its fight against illegal mining popularly known as “Galamsey” in the country.

Prior to the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by President Akufo-Addo promised to combat illegal mining which has destroyed lands and water bodies in the country.

The President and his team initiated a policy in his first term to eradicate illegal mining (Galamsey) and has also vowed to deal with illegal miners in his second term.

Well, a couple of months ago persons living in  illegal mining communities have called on the government to take immediate steps to end the galamsey because the miners have destroyed their water bodies as well as lands.

As a result, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo through the security agency deployed dozens of military men to galamsey communities.

The government charged the military men to set ablaze all excavators used for the illegal mining during their operation.

A video sighted by our outfit captured the moment of the ceased excavators set on fire and the owner crying like a toddler.
