The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, together with the Deputy CEO (Operations), Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu, embarked on a working tour of companies located within the Tema to strengthen engagements with industry players and promote the Free Zones Scheme.
At Sulu Investments Ltd., producers of water and carbonated drinks under the Nero brand, the team was received by the Managing Director, Mr. Manabhanjan Pattnaik, who shared the company’s expansion plans into the Ashanti Region and its intentions to export to the sub region. Dr. Awusi encouraged the company to register under the Free Zones Scheme to benefit from incentives that would reduce production costs and position it for opportunities under AfCFTA and the government’s 24-Hour Economy Policy.
The delegation also visited Non-Ferrous Ltd, a Free Zone Enterprise engaged in battery recycling for lead exports. The Managing Director, Mr. Neelesh Bhatia, highlighted the company’s growth and CSR initiatives, including a clinic and school for the Shai Hills community. Dr. Awusi lauded the company’s innovation, social impact and contribution to industrial development, assuring GFZA’s continued support.
The visits formed part of GFZA’s commitment to directly engage enterprises, better understand their operations, and facilitate their growth in line with government’s Reset Agenda.
