The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has issued a strong call to the public, urging them to dismiss a purported recruitment advertisement that has been making rounds on various social media platforms. In an official statement, the GAF clarified that it is not currently conducting any recruitment exercise.

The statement emphasized the importance of relying solely on the official channels used by the GAF to announce enlistment and recruitment exercises, namely, the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times newspapers.

These newspapers have been the trusted platforms through which the GAF communicates its legitimate recruitment activities.

“We want to categorically state that the Ghana Armed Forces is not recruiting at this time,” the statement declared, aiming to dispel any misconceptions arising from the misleading social media advertisement.

The GAF expressed concern over the dissemination of false information and emphasized the need for the public to be vigilant against deceptive internet links and illicit activities.

To safeguard the integrity of the armed forces and protect prospective applicants from falling victim to scams, the GAF encouraged individuals to promptly report any such fake advertisements or dubious online activities to the nearest military installation or police station.

Recruitment scams have been a prevailing issue, with malicious actors exploiting the aspirations of young people seeking to join the armed forces.

By resorting to false advertisements on social media, these scammers attempt to deceive and exploit the public.

The GAF’s cautionary statement is an essential step in countering such deceptive practices and ensuring that the recruitment process remains transparent and legitimate.

Aspiring military candidates are advised to exercise caution and be cautious of unofficial recruitment advertisements that may surface on social media.

By relying on the established and recognized official channels in the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times, individuals interested in joining the GAF can ensure that they are engaging with genuine opportunities.
