“The Ghana Marine Police Unit plays a crucial role in maintaining law and order in our maritime domain, preventing piracy, and protecting our marine resources. These new patrol boats will undoubtedly enhance the unit’s operational capacity, enabling them to effectively patrol our waters, respond to emergencies, and prevent maritime crimes,’ he stated.
He clarified that the patrol boats will be utilised for surveillance, patrolling, and rescue operations. They will also allow the Marine Police officers to promptly respond to distress calls, stop smuggling and piracy, and safeguard the nation’s marine resources from exploitation.
The Ghanaian public was reassured by Hon. Muntaka that the government and the Ministry of Interior are still dedicated to upholding peace and security in the nation and will keep working nonstop to guarantee that people live in a safe and secure environment.
