Ghana is becoming a leader in the African continent’s digital environment, according to Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu (MP), Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations.

He was addressing a dinner and awards ceremony last night (August 29, 2025) at the Alisa Hotels in Accra to wrap up the commemoration of ICT Week on behalf of the Minister, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP).

Stakeholders from the public and business sectors, academia, and civil society came together to exchange ideas, present creative solutions, and establish new directions for Ghana’s transition to digital trade.

The occasion showed Ghana’s dedication to embracing the digital future and establishing itself as a leader on the continent, the Deputy Minister said.

He affirmed the government’s continued support in providing the appropriate policies, investments, and enabling environment to ensure that the ideas shared during the week are translated into real impact for the people and praised the National Information Technology Agency, its Governing Board, management, staff, and all partners for their tireless efforts in making the ICT Week celebration a success.

Technology, according to Hon. Sukparu, is about more than just connectivity; it’s about opportunity, empowerment, and inclusive progress for all Ghanaians.

He urged stakeholders to keep collaborating in order to create a strong, safe, and citizen-centered digital ecosystem for Ghana, pointing out that it was a chance to recognize efforts, fortify networks, and reaffirm shared dedication to the path forward.
