Ghana–Nicaragua had a Bilateral Meeting

H.E. Denis Moncada Colindres, Minister Advisor to the Co-Presidents for International Policy and Affairs of Nicaragua, met with Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, at a high level to strengthen their long-standing relationship and discuss potential new areas of collaboration.

President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua and the late President Jerry John Rawlings of Ghana were friends, and the encounter reaffirmed the historical ties between the two countries.

Hon. Ablakwa underlined the significance of reviving cooperation in fields like education, tourism, visa facilitation, and scholarships. In addition to expressing President Ortega’s warmest regards, H.E. Moncada Colindres emphasised Nicaragua’s dedication to fortifying relations and the importance of extending collaboration across many industries.

Both parties decided to increase cooperation in youth development, agriculture, culture, sports, production, and official delegation exchanges.

The topics of debate also included Nicaragua’s national priorities, such as socioeconomic reform, youth and women’s leadership, energy development, and poverty eradication.

A Framework Cooperation Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations were signed at the end of the summit, creating a formal framework for Ghana and Nicaragua’s future collaboration and partnership.
