Hon, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah was optimistic that over Millions of individuals in the coconut producing region depend on coconut for their livelihoods due to their high nutritional contents, including vitamins and minerals.
The coconuts communities satisfy environmental objectives in our effort to mitigate climate change through our replanted efforts, reducing global warming and further the global markets demand for Coconut, coconut water, sugar, cream, coconut oil Vizio and activated carbon as is increasing rapidly.
For this reason Ghana have to converted its effort in achieving new means of technology into production, new variety and quality of coconuts, pests and disease to attain our desired results, while the government secures $200 billion dollars to support the coconut sector and other processes, which is highly commendable and praise worthy.
He believe it is defeated to call an oil industry place to invest in the coconut sector to position Ghana as a premium hub. For coconut on the global continents.
Meanwhile the CEO of Ghana Export Promotion Authority Dr Afua Asabea Asare said Ghana now ranked 12th in world production of coconut and than number one producer of coconut in Africa.
GEPA has remained the modest in ensuring farming to its standard of coconuts.
She currently global demand of coconut is 14.5m and Ghana is only producing 11.6m and this is a wake up call to at least bridge the gaps.
Ghana can succeed if government invest more in export earnings for growth of coconut farming as means of livelihoods.
GEPA is committed to working with their partners to move coconut beyond and its value chains.
In his keynote, the deputy minister of food and agriculture the representative of the Hon sector minister, Hon Yaw Frimpong hinted that government is poised to change the mindsets of the illegal miners into coconut farming seems now the coconut sector is more attractive than before.
The government vision and Ghana beyond aid is by modernisating of agriculture and to enhancing human capital.
