GITFC PAYS COURTESY CALL ON SPEAKER BAGBIN AHEAD OF 2025 GLOBAL DEBT INITIATIVE CONFERENCE

The Acting CEO of GITFC, Mr Selassie Kofi Ackom, led a delegation to meet the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin, as part of preparations for the 9th Annual Global Debt Initiative Conference scheduled for 27–28 November 2025 at Palms By Eagles, Airport City.

Speaker Bagbin stressed the urgent need for developing countries to advocate strongly for debt relief, noting that Africa’s major hurdles remain trade and finance. He highlighted the increasingly complex global economic climate and the importance of pushing for debt forgiveness to ease pressure on developing nations.

Mr Ackom applauded the Speaker for his deep insight and deep advocacy on debt issues across Africa and the Global South, affirming that his perspectives will significantly enrich the upcoming conference.
