The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) reacted to a distress call on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at 1559 hours, reporting a vehicle collision at Kintampo Waterfalls in Kintampo North Municipality.
A team lead by ADOII Rhinehold Appiah Gyamfi and piloted by RFM Takyi Kodom was sent to the location.
When the crew arrived at 1724 hours, they noticed several vehicle incidents, including a Mercedes Sprinter that hit with parked cars and caught fire.
The tragedy occurred while a towing vehicle attempted to tow a Kia Bongo that had fallen into a pit three days prior.
Three people reported injuries following rescue and recovery operations, and twenty-six passengers were stranded.
For medical attention, the injured were taken to Kintampo Municipal Hospital. The GNFS crew sought to alleviate the situation and save individuals who were stranded.
The event emphasises how crucial it is to drive carefully and safely.
The public is still being taught about emergency response and fire safety by the GNFS.
