According to TV3 weekend news on 14th February, 2021, Sekyere basic schools pupils carry furniture to school each school going days.
Sekyere is a small community in the Ashanti region of Ghana and has no town around that children can attend school aside Sekyere community.
According to the report, the community has all people as peasant farmers who feed on what they grow. There is no cash crop production nor market around of which the people in the community depend on.
There is one primary school in the community which was built with sand bricks and lacks chairs and tables.
According to one madam, the school has no trained or government teachers. They are all volunteers helping the children.
The community has no electricity and water, no communication networks for telephone, no access to radio and road that a vehicle can ply on. The only means of transport is by bicycle or motorcycle.
Meanwhile, if they get aid, the community is ready to give them timber that can be used to create furniture for the school.

So they are seeking for aid and support from the government and other bodies to help the community elevate the school.
