NIGERIA – A suspected livestock thief was nabbed by community members and given instant justice.
As reported, the team of thieves stole six goats and six sheeps from a local community.
According to eyewitness accounts, the theives who werre traveling in a Pregio commercial vehicle were intercepted by residents after a high-speed chase through several nearby towns.
The chase ended after they were eventually nabbed and the irate mob apprehended one of the theives.
He was tied to a wall and lashed over two hundred times before the whole community.
Law enforcement officials at Adankwame confirmed that the stolen animals have been recovered and that investigations are currently underway.
Police have condemned the act of mob justice and are urging the public to report crimes to the appropriate authorities rather than taking the law into their own hands.
