Good Message For GES Promotion Applicants

The Ghana Education Service released the 2022 Promotion and Aptitude Test advertisement pretty earlier than expected.

The main reason for this early announcement is not clear. However, a series of uncharacteristic challenges engulfed the 20201 promotion results.

The Education supervisory body wants to minimise those problems to the bearest minimum this time. One of the moves initiated by the Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwaah-Led body to solve the problems is, submission of documents to the District Education Directorates.

The Education Service has advised suitable applicants to submit their appointment letters, upgrading letters, all certificates and application forms to their respective District Education Directors through the Human Resource Management Development officers.

One Human Resource Management Development officer in Bono East wrote : “Please Applicants for the next promotion exams are advised to submit copies of their certificates, appointment letters, upgrading letters and application print outs to the District Education Office.”

Sources close to some Human Resource Officers state that, the documents would be well screened to avoid situations whereby applicants would be asked to send their documents to the Regional Education Offices or Ghana Education Service Headquarters.

Here are some points teachers seeking for promotion this year should note.

1. Teachers and Officers of Ghana Education Service should know the difference between substantive year of promotion and notional year of promotion.

2. 2022 Promotion hopefuls should submit their documents to the District Education Offices on time to avoid unnecessary squabbles with the officers. Whoever fails to submit his or her documents, does so at his or her own peril.

3. A Teacher must know the grade he or she is applying for. That is, a teacher would be disqualified if he or she selects a wrong grade.

4. Teachers should allow their District Education Directorates to endorse their application print outs. The endorsed forms should be kept safely place for future reference.
