Government Should Listen To The Nurses And Midwives – Patients Beg President.

Yesterday the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association, Ghana Association of Certified Registered Anesthetists, Ghana Physician Assistants Association started a nationwide strike as a result of the fallout from the ongoing conditions of service negotiations with the employer.

Their absence from the hospitals is a threat to patients lives. Patients were left stranded in the hospitals. Nurse and Midwives denied their services client, especially pregnant women who were in labour.

The stranded patients in various hospitals are now calling on the government and president Akufo-Addo to listen to their cry and offer what they want. Because at the end it’s the patient who suffers.

But according to the group, their strike is indefinitely until their requests are being addressed. The leaders of the associations has warned CHAG institutions to stop intimidating their members.

That they have not received any court injunction by the National Labour Commission and therefore should stop threatening them of salary deductions.

President of the group speaking on a popular radio station said they continue to layoff their tools until further notice.
