He beats me anytime I beg him to provide for us at home – Housewife seeks for divorce after 8 years of abusive marriage

A woman of has two petitioned a court in Ibadan to dissolve her 8 year marriage to her abusive husband, Abduljelil Lawal.

Housewife Muibat Lawal, according to her she filed for divorce from her husband for lack of love, domestic abuse and gross irresponsibility.

She explained to the court that she met Abduljelil Lawal on Facebook where they went into relationship that led to marriage.

According to her, their marriage has been like a battle ground because the husband turns her into a punching bag whenever she asks him to provide for the family.

According to the woman, she had fallen out of love with her husband, hence the need for the court to grant her request for the dissolution of the marriage.

“After our wedding in Offa town, Lawal’s irresponsibility became well-pronounced as he turned me into his punching bag. He beats me anytime I beg him to provide for us at home. In fact, he accuses me of infidelity and subjects me to public assault,” Lawal told the court.
