She disclosed that she has received four conflicting accounts regarding the cause and circumstances of her brother’s death, deepening her doubts about what truly happened.
She also raised concerns about the lack of transparency in the funeral planning process, alleging that Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, the family head, unilaterally formed a funeral committee without consulting key members of the family.
“There has been no openness in how things are being done,” she reportedly lamented, accusing certain individuals of attempting to rush the funeral preparations despite unresolved questions.
In addition, Maame Brempomaa pointed to ongoing disputes over widowhood rites, stating that disagreements between Daddy Lumba’s wives and family elders have further complicated the process.
She further alleged that she has not been allowed to view her brother’s body since his death and claimed that an autopsy was conducted without the family’s consent.
Even more alarming, she stated that she had been informed by trusted sources that her brother’s intestines were discarded after the autopsy, an act she described as deeply disrespectful and suspicious.
Citing these reasons, she questioned the motive behind what she described as a “rushed attempt” to hold the funeral, suggesting there may be possible foul play involved.
