Exam season has arrived for high school students, including Hlompo Mokhane, who is 16 years old. He chose to attend night classes, despite his mother’s opposition since he didn’t want her kid to be exposed to the outside world, particularly now that it is not safe.
Hlompo was raped over the weekend by his classmates who were also members of Leon’s night study club. He went home on Friday to join the night study group, which he and his classmates formed to aid each other as the half-year test approached.
Hlompo gave his mother a really sad letter yesterday, in which he revealed that he was raped by three of his classmates, Mandela, Thapelo, and Leon.
He said that he is humiliated to face the world and that he would not return home, and that he wishes he had heeded her mother’s advice not to join the gang.
“I am not feeling good at all, I just have Hlompo, he’s my first and only clid, I understand what he said, but I love my son and would go through with him with what happened to him,” Hlompo’s mother stated.
Yes, I advised him not to join the organization, but what matters now is that my son returns home safely; I need assistance in locating him and bringing him home. Hlompo’s mother claims she has offered her salary as a prize to anybody who can safely return her son to her.
The issue has already been handed over to the SAPS, and a rape investigation involving a missing person has been opened. The police pledged to discover the youngster and hold the boy who raped Hlompo accountable for his actions.
