A balance of payment support schedule from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will bring stability and replenish the confidence of Ghana’s economy, the District Chief Executive for Suaman, in the Western North Region, Hon. Boahen Philip has said.

The DCE noted that policy credibility will help achieve fiscal and debt sustainability to restore economic challenges in the country.

He accounted that the NPP government wished not to go to the IMF for intervention to stabilize the economy. However, according to the Chief Executive, under the circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, the government had no choice but to seek a critical bailout to stabilize businesses, therefore urging Ghanaians to agree the dogma and support the idea of going to the IMF for intervention.

“We’re going to IMF just to make sure the economy does not exacerbate so we’ll not let any alternative inhibit the government’s agenda, though its propagation intricate to Ghanaians”, the DCE expressed.
