However, Okyeame Kwame attempted to smoke before he began making music, contrary to popular belief that those who work in the creative industries are more likely to lead unhealthy lifestyles.
Okyeame claimed in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy Prime that he had only ever smoked twice in his life and that each time had been a negative experience that led him to give up smoking.
In my life, I’ve smoked marijuana twice. Two, one. It wasn’t fun for me. Here I am. I desire awareness. I need to be informed. I want to be aware of my surroundings. I wish to experience my inner self. I don’t enjoy everything that makes me drunk. I slowed down after taking it, and then I started having hallucinations,” he stated.
Without denying it, he reaffirmed his desire to be intentional in all he does and to take responsibility for it.
The musician, who is a vegetarian, claims that one thing he has avoided is alcohol.
I abstain from alcohol. I’ve had alcohol before, but if I placed all the alcohol I’ve had in 47 years into one beer bottle, my life would be cut in half. Alcohol isn’t something I drink, Okyeame said.
Regarding how he stays young and healthy, he said that eating the proper foods at the correct times and exercising have been his secrets.
First and foremost, he said, “I get my seven hours of sleep every night. Beyond that, in the morning, I practice intermittent fasting, so when I get up, I drink my water, which includes lemon or lime. Then, I wait until 10.30 a.m. or eleven before I have my major meal.
