The management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST, has given authorization for their students to begin the study of Kofi Kinaata’s ‘Things Fall Apart’ song from this semester.
In an intercepted post made by the school on its social media page, the song will be studied by the level 200 students of the English department for the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic year.
They added that the institute arrived at the decision due to the literary devices employed and the lyrical arrangement of the song.
“Because of the literary devices and lyrical arrangement of the stanzas set up Kofi Kinaata’s [@kinaataGh] songs ‘Things Fall Apart’, the English Department of KNUST have authorized the song to be studied by the level 200’s for the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic year,” they indicated in the post.
In six years, the department has authorized three of the Takoradi-based singer’s songs for their students.
The songs are ‘Susuka’, 2016, ‘Confession’ 2018 and ‘Things Fall Apart’, 2022.
