Malema Grills Judge, Says Those Scared To Make Case Laws Are Cowards
Julius Malema who is commissioner of the Judicial Services Commission grilled judge Matojane questioning him what is the significance of sending old people to correctional facilities knowing very well that they will not be send back to the society.
Malema was asking this question in relation to what happened to former president Jacob Zuma when he was send to Estcourt Prison for contempt of court. The former president is an 80-year old man and he was released from prison on parole on the basis that his health was fragile.
“I’m worried acting judge president as to what type of society have we become to be imprisoning the elderly. Because in my understanding if we invest in correctional facilities it is to rebuild the person and take this person back to society to contribute positively,” Malema said.
Judge Matojane then hits back at Julius Malema saying he is raising the issue in the wrong platform because he is member of parliament which makes the laws. The red beret leader however was not having it, and told the judge that they also make laws and that those who are scared to do so are cowards.
“You also make laws. Judges who are scared to make case laws are cowards,” said Malema to judge Matojane.
RET comrade, Mfoka Jobe reacting to Julius Malema grilling the judge about sending old people to correctional facilities said the red beret leader is a genius.
“Julius Malema is a genius, he cornered all of them with one question, they were all shaking. They make case laws, their opinions help when looking for precedents, how judges apply law is very important in developing laws,” he said.
Critics however blasts Malema and said he keeps on fighting former president Jacob Zuma’s battles, and that the tea in Nkandla messed him up. Malema Grills Judge, Says Those Scared To Make Case Laws Are Cowards [Watch]
