Yesterday’s incident left witnesses and residents astounded. UTV reported that cocoa farmers were shocked to find their farm with cracked land, giving the impression that an excavator had been used. Furthermore, numerous cocoa pods had fallen from the trees, leading many to speculate that an earthquake had indeed occurred.
One resident of Twifo Mampong shared their experience, stating, “If you appear at Twifo-Mampong township, some cocoa farmers got to their farm and the land had cracked as if an excavator was used on the land, and some of the cocoa had fallen hence the reason many believe it was an earthquake. It happened in the farm.”
The sudden event, suspected to be an earthquake, has left the residents of Twifo Mampong in a state of alarm and concern. The unusual occurrence of cracks in the land and the falling of cocoa pods has unsettled the community.
The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has taken notice of the incident and has initiated further investigations to determine the precise cause and intensity of the event.
