Meet the lady who moved to US with $0 and has become the first graduate in her family
A young lady has taken to social media to celebrate her academic achievement as well as acknowledging the sacrifices her parents made for her.
According to the 21-year-old identified as Hamdia Ahmed, her parents relocated from their home country to United States many years back during a civil war.
She celebrated over her status as the first graduate in her family. She further revealed that that she spent the first set of her formative years in a refugee camp as her parents worked to ensure her she gets the best in her life.
According Hamdia, they moved to the United States with nothing in their purse. Many years after that passing through difficulties, the lady became the first graduate in her family.
The fresh graduate shared photos of herself rocking a graduation gown and placing a heartwarming kiss on her mother’s forehead.
”21 years ago my mother gave birth to me while she was escaping from a civil war. I spend the first 7 years of my life in a refugee camp. My parents sacrificed so much for their kids.
They moved to the USA with $0, Today, I became the first person to graduate college in my family,” she wrote.
