A revised Manual for the Preparation of Spatial Plans and Zoning Guidelines and Planning Standards has been released by the Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority (LUSPA), which is part of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs (MLGCRA), in an effort to encourage sustainable and coordinated spatial development throughout Ghana.
The November 3, 2025, unveiling in Accra represents a significant turning point in Ghana’s initiatives to enhance land use and spatial governance for resilient and well-planned communities.
Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, the Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, spoke at the occasion and reiterated the government’s support for organised spatial planning as a major component of Ghana’s sustainable development program.
